Jointly chaired by Drs. Tao Xu (Director of Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, CAS) and Boerge Diderichsen (Vice President, Novo Nordisk A/S, NN), “NN-CAS Symposium on Translational Research in Biopharmaceuticals” was held in Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, CAS, on November 7, 2014. Drs. Ruiming Xu, Director-General of Bureau of Frontier Sciences and Education, CAS) and Per Falk, Senior Vice President of NN, made opening remarks, respectively. About one hundred attendees representing various CAS institutes and NN were present. Drs. Ming-Wei Wang (Director, the National Center for Drug Screening) and Jakob Helding Rasmussen (Vice President of NN R&D) delivered two plenary lectures, Eight awardees from CAS who received “Novo Nordisk-CAS Research Fund” support in previous years and seven senior scientists from NN reported their latest research achievements. The participants expect that the fund will continue to prosper in the years to come.
