Professor Ming-Wei Wang (Dean, School of Pharmacy, Fudan University, Director, the National Center for Drug Screening/Chinese National Compound Library, Distinguished Professor, ShanghaiTech University and Professor, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences) met with his old friend, Mr. Robert F. Friel, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PerkinElmer (USA) at Zhangjiang, Shanghai in the afternoon of October 30, 2017. Dr. Wang was invited to attend the global executive meeting of PerkinElmer and talk about the current status and future prospects of life sciences and pharmaceutical industry development in China. He used this opportunity to express his sincere gratitude to PerkinElmer for its long-standing support to Queenstown Molecular Biology Meetings in Shanghai, setting up scholarships at Fudan School of Pharmacy and providing after-class practical training positions to undergraduate students of the school. Mr. Friel emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral and multilateral collaborations via continuously exploring new entry points. During the interaction, Dr. Wang also answered various questions raised by the executives present.
