During the 2014 Queenstown Molecular Biology (Shanghai) Meetings recently held in Zhangjiang, four young scientists received the presentation prizes sponsored for Young Investigators’ Forum and Postgraduates’ Podium, respectively, by Trends in Pharmacological Sciences (TiPS). On April 1, 2014, Professor Ming-Wei Wang, Director of the National Center for Drug Screening, delivered 4 award certificates to these individuals as detailed below. It is informed that a cash reward of US$250 each was given to them by the meeting organization group previously.
Young Investigators’ Forum:
Tao Meng (Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences): The discovery and optimization of 4,5-diarylisoxazole as ATP-competitive inhibitors of pyruvate dehydrogenase kinases.
Li-Na Zhang (The National Center for Drug Screening, China): Brown remodelling of white adipose tissue by small molecules.
Postgraduates’ Podium:
Xinxiu Xu (The National Center for Drug Screening, China): Hyperosmosis facilitates mouse somatic cell reprogramming.
Lun Zhang (Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences): Functional role of conserved HxD-histidine in the catalytic core of protein kinases.
