A panel of 40 technical and management experts, organized by the Science, Technology and Education Department of National Health and Family Planning Commission (STED-NHFPC) of the People's Republic of China, visited the Chinese National Compound Library (CNCL) in the morning of March 14, 2014. They were attending the Second Workshop for the Planning and Construction Tasks of Preservation Entities of Human Infectious Microbial Pathogens (Toxins) held in Shanghai. A warm reception was given by Professor Ming-Wei Wang, Director of CNCL, who also introduced the construction history, operating mechanisms, management structure, external services and cultural environment of CNCL in great detail, and answered a variety of questions raised by the audience. The guests were deeply impressed by this visit and appreciated CNCL as “a realized dream of combining superb design, attention to details and artistic outlook”. They believe that the precious experience gained by CNCL would definitely help the development of China’s preservation organizations of human microbial pathogens (toxins).
