Jointly chaired by Professor Yaping Zhang, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Dr. Peter Kurtzhals, Senior Vice President of Novo Nordisk A/S, the 2014 board meeting of Novo Nordisk-CAS Research Fund was held in Beijing in the afternoon of February 23. Other CAS board members who were present included Mr. Jinghua Cao (Deputy Bureau Director), Drs. Ruiming Xu (Bureau Director), Tao Xu (Institute Director) and Ming-Wei Wang (Center Director). Novo Nordisk's board members Drs. Per Falk (Senior Vice President), Boerge Diderichsen (Vice President) , Baoping Wang (President of Novo Nordisk China R&D Center) and Rasmus Joergensen (Vice President of Novo Nordisk China R&D Center) attended the meeting. The participants reviewed the history of the foundation, discussed newly funded research projects and agreed upon the tasks of this year. Ms. Dongyao Wang (Program Officer), Division of European Affairs, Bureau of International Cooperation of CAS, was also present.
