Jointly chaired by Mr. Jinghua Cao, Deputy Director-General of Bureau of International Cooperation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Dr. Per Falk, Senior Vice President of Novo Nordisk A/S, the board meeting of Novo Nordisk-CAS Research Foundation was held in Beijing in the afternoon of February 25, 2013. Other board members who were present included Drs. Tao Xu (Director of Institute of Biophysics, CAS), Ming-Wei Wang (Director, the National Center for Drug Screening), Boerge Diderichsen (Vice President, Novo Nordisk) and Baoping Wang (President of Novo Nordisk China R&D Center). The participants reviewed the history of the foundation, discussed newly funded research projects and agreed upon the near-term working plan. Madam Yan Wu (Division Head) and Ms. Xiao Zhang (Program Officer), Division of European Affairs, Bureau of International Cooperation of CAS, attended the meeting.

Prior to that, Dr. Ming-Wei Wang attended the "Seminar - Sino Denmark Innovative Drug R&D", at the invitation of the Royal Danish Embassy, in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province, on February 23, 2013. In-depth discussions were carried out during the seminar regarding the regulatory path for anti-obesity drug development among the physicians, scientists and regulatory experts present. Dr. Wang delivered concluding remarks at the end of the event.
